Biography | |||||
Lourdes Correa Carlo was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1970. She studied history of art at the University of Puerto Rico (Río Piedras), the San Juan Art Students League, and the Puerto Rico School of Fine Arts, where she earned a B.A. in sculpture in 2002. The most evident influences in her work may be found in post-minimalist, ephemeral art, and land art. Her style and preferences lean to an exploration of the multiple meanings of the senses and language. Among her recent productions worth mentioning are her consistent participation in projects such as U/topistas (2000), Fónico (2001) and Loíza (2002), all of them sponsored by M & M Projects; PR'00 , PR'01 and PR'02 en route, in which Lourdes Correa consistently showed her wit and artistic vision. |
