Edgard Rodríguez-Luiggi was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, in 1968. He earned a B.A. with a major in painting at the Puerto Rico School of Fine Arts. Rodríguez studied ceramics, painting, and drawing at the San Juan Art Students League, and ceramics at Casa Candina. Currently he is a student at the Center for Graduate Studies of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean (Centro de Estudios Avanzados de Puerto Rico y el Caribe). In addition to his artistic work, Rodríguez-Luiggi is experienced in the restoration and conservation of works of art, and has worked as exhibits coordinator for the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture and the Inter American University of Puerto Rico. He teaches painting at the Puerto Rico School of Plastic Arts, and holds art workshops at the San Juan Art Students League, the Puerto Rico Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Casa Roig Museum.
