Biography

Daniel Lind Ramos was born in Loíza, Puerto Rico, in 1953. He studied at the University of Puerto Rico, with masters Félix Bonilla Norat, Osiris Delgado, and Luis Hernández Cruz, among others, earning a bachelor's degree in 1975. In 1980, he completed an M.A. at New York University. He is currently a teacher at the Humanities Department, University of Puerto Rico, Humacao campus.

Lind was the first Puerto Rican artist to receive the Arana Foundation scholarship to study in Paris and attend the workshops of Alfonso Arana and Antonio Seguí at the Paris Fine Arts School. Outstanding among the many prizes and awards received by Lind are the First Prize of the Val D'or de Hyeres Salon, in South France, (1990), and the Delegation Prize of the International Salon of Latin American Plastic Arts in Meillant, France (2000). Other achievements include first prizes obtained in competitions held in Puerto Rico, such as the Mobile Art Competition (1979) and the Gulf Art Competition (1980).  

The work of Daniel Lind Ramos has been exhibited in several individual and numerous collective shows in France, the Dominican Republic, the United States, and Puerto Rico.
